We were originally formed in 1959 as Nomura Securities Investment Trust Management Co., Ltd. (NSITM), specializing in Japanese investment trust fund management.
In 1981 Nomura Investment Management Co., Ltd. (NIMCO) was established to provide segregated investment services to institutional investors. In 1997, following a merger between NIMCO and NSITM, Nomura Asset Management was formed.
